Thanks Bob...wow, I've never been in a 175 but I didn't expect the big weight difference between these 2 models, despite the 175 having 5" more of length.  I wonder what manufacturing materials used gives 400lbs more to the 175 dry hull weight than the 170.

Not sure myself but at least on paper, the Genmar hulls are heavier. Maybe marketing or adding the weight of the motor/rigging. The 97 catalog lists hull weights with a given motor. I know my 91 210 WAC is listed 900 lbs heavier than a 1986 222 XF/CCP hull. My old Yamaha weighs in at around 420 lbs +/-. Where is the extra 480 lbs?  :ScrChin:
