Various thoughts (the thread is fragmented) on the 19-1 model Aquas.

Most of the 191 we've seen here have the reverse strakes.  I'm not sure I've seen a 191 Osprey unless both models have the reverse strakes. What does the very bottom of the transom look like on yours?
My 70/71 170 did not have wood in the keel like I've seen on many 22-2 rebuilds, mine didn't seem to have anything down the center.

As you know the boats of this era did not have portas on them so you should plan on offsetting this by keeping everything a little forward.
Nando has a 19-6 with an offset engine, maybe he can give you some ideas.

I've got a '71 19-1 Gull, just a little different than the Osprey in that my console is intruding into the casting deck by about a foot but the casting deck really isn't that big, standard size at most it ends at the back of the bow rail.  Other than that pretty much the same boat like you said.  Your build sounds spot on.  The original stringers are usually a little too close together to put much of a fuel tank between them at least you can build around your tank.  Divinycell on the sides might be a bit overkill, does your hull still have the liner?  If not I guess it makes sense, my 'liner' isn't really anything structural but does give a little protection to the inner hull sides.

Two things that concerned me-
Typically the structural design of a deck built with Nidacore (or any lightweight core being used for the deck) will want more layers of glass on the tension side-the bottom side of the deck.  Have seen that what you typically need for strength/stiffness in this app is two layers on the bottom & one on top, with an additional layer on top only for protection from dropping things on your deck.

And I'd be leary of using a bracket on a boat under 20', just rarely seems to work out, they just don't sit well until fully on plane (& not a slow planing speed) even with weight moved forward.

Only ran the boat a few times when I bought it then began the tear down, it planed easy without trim tabs but keep in mind my driving position is just about where most console front seats are, seemed to ride about like any average boat of this siz, other than that I really didn't put it through enough to answer your other questions.
Don't think it would've 'kicked out', with the slight V to the hull that shouldn't be an issue like it can be in a flat back.
The original placement of my fuel tank, as was yours, is in the console above deck.  Mine was 26 gal. and further forward than most being a Gull model.  But thats changed now, I've also placed a tank under the deck but haven't ran the boat with it as it's not finished...
Will try and get measurements from the cap down to the deck for ya this week.
In the mean time heres a pic of the transom, with some of the deck left just below the lower engine mounting bolts.

Kevin, it was a pleasure to meet you! Sorry missed your call yesterday. Will give a holler manana.

Regarding the tank placement with respect to the bracket...think you'll be okay with the fill running just forward of the rear casting deck bulkhead as placed....but as Rick says, will defer to Blue Agave (Nando).

Good looking ride!

On a side note, am sure you'll be pleased with the 175 from Georgia. It's under warranty right?

Sooo..... when are we slicing out those crappy stringers and transom?!?!? Also, I think I may want to try and splash a mold of the nose of your hull to try and come up with a way to get mine back in shape... what do you think?   :bounce:

The 19-1 is a hottie in her own right :salut:

Like the chain saw idea...just get the angle right, pull it to you.
