22-2 Fish box drain hardware
« on: July 24, 2018, 03:51:27 AM »
I am currently prepping the casting deck for reinstallation. I am hunting for a replacement fish box drain unit, to go from the hole in the fish box to a hose. I don't think I am using the right nomenclature for this component, because I am not coming up with much. Anybody know where I might source one, preferably stainless?

I'm looking to do this on my 1989 CCP also. I am not sure where it originally drained to but I have a switch for fishbox and another for livewell. Do you have any pics of your plumbing?

I currently have no fish box plumbing to photograph for you. What was on my box was broken plastic attached to a hose that looked like garden hose. When it comes time to rig it permanently, I think I may machine a stainless thru hull to a lower profile lip to accomplish what I am looking for. I really don't want to use any plastic fittings in the rebuild where it can be avoided.

I know this is an older thread, but I think I found the exact part I was looking for. I had to order it from the UK, but it is on the way. I will report back as soon as it arrives. I wish it would have come in a 90 degree version, but it is the lowest profile drain I have found in stainless to date.

In case anybody else needs to replace their 22-2 fish box drain... This part is exactly what I was looking for. It is listed as "Seaflow 316 Stainless Steel Flush Deck Drain 24mm" Part number 511035 (1" ID hose) . It has an optional ground wiring point as well. Much better than the factory plastic unit. 3 days from order to my front door shipped from the UK.
