The Osprey is a great inshore boat. I've had a 170 Osprey for 30 years and wouldn't get rid of it but that being said, you have to know what type of water it's good in and what its not good in.
The "good" is in shallower, smooth and/or slight chop water.
The "not good" - these are not deep water boats, sure I've been 10 miles out but it was a little concerning since the sides are low (called freeboard). The transoms on these older boats are usually a cut out which leaves the top of the transom about 8 inches from the water - watch your following seas. These boats can be wet when in a quartering wind - you hit a wave and the wind blows it back at you. This is pretty much true for any open boat. I also have a 230 Explorer and it can be really wet in the wrong seas.
Other than that these boats can be a lot of fun.
