All I can tell you is how I did mine, getting my info from here and from other boat builder sites...I sanded the hull inside bottom down lightly, not removing to much glass, just any high spots and paint etc..with 40 grit on a 7in sander... vacumned everything up to remove dust..then wiped it all down with acetone right before applying epoxy to the floor..then lay the cloth(pre-cut to fit) over the epoxy and brush or roll more epoxy into the cloth until it sort of becomes transparent...you don't have to soak the cloth, it will absorb the epoxy, just enough to wet it out, to much and it becomes a weaker bond..Start with a smaller area and you will get the hang of it quick.... :pirat:

Yeah I just used a 7in sander, got it at harbor freight, cheap, used 40 grit sanding disc from Lowes, they cut thru the stuff pretty fast...some areas you might need a smaller sander or just hand sand, (corners)...I haven't forgotten about the cloth..

Finally its time to start building the boat back up doing everything out of 1708 and still going to be a week or two till im able to go and get all the coosa board for the project but think i have enough 1708 and resin to do the whole project.  I wanted to reinforce the inner hull before rebuilding and dont know the best way of going about this.  Ive purchased 1708 in 6" roll 12" roll 38" roll and 50" roll really wanted to save the 50" for the transom and floor ext.  Here were my thoughts figured i would take the 38" stuff and go one run over the stringers and then take the 12" and run along the outter corners of the boat.   Will this be good enough strenght wise or do i want to try and  cover every part of the bottom.   Any advice greatly appreciated.

Well has been awhile but have managed to make a little progress

Did finish glassing the transom in finally.

Foamed the stringers to the transom and glassed to hull bottom and transom in between layers on the transom trying to build a solid boat.

Did get my transom knees built and glued together with one layer of glass on them.  Next step to glue them to the boat.

Once closed all in wanted to try and follow the original lines of the boat at the rear hopefully to look smooth and original as possible.

Cut out in knees for the two bilge pump lines to pass thru to the thru hulls.

quick questions for you guys.  My stringer originally were glued to the floor of my boat with a bedding compound that was up to 3" thick in some areas.  Now I plan to raise my floor height 1" from original.  But leaves me having to build my stringers up 3" inches in some areas and around 2" in others.  Dont have exact measurments yet.  What I want to know is what you guys have done in this situation.  Either build it up with marine ply to get one full length level stringer,  or is the some kind of block sheets of foam board i can use.  Open to all ideas or input.

Little bit of progress.  Transom knees all done and glassed in.  Front of rear cabinet also finished and glassed in.  Did manage to get stringers built up to correct new level and all glassed down.  And now starting to build bulk heads and hopefully get them glassed in next weekend.

Nice work!!! You are going to have a really nice ride when you're done. How did you fill those gaps in on the stringers (2 to 3 in) ?

Pretty work. Our apologies for not addressing your question from October.

Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. If any of you guys ask a question with no response....don't be shy, please post again, or bump.

Thanks :salut:

Originally the starboard stinger was lower than port and they filled the gap with bedding compound so just used a level and went from side to side and measured from tops of stringers to level.  Then built the different a prices for each section

Are you going to reuse the trough or will you put in rigging tubes? Looks great, you're doing a great job at the glass work :thumright: I see you built up your stringers with a layer or 2 of wood..same way I had to . it worked out fine on mine, I think the thickest part of the gap left when my floor went down was about 1/2 inch easily filled with thicken epoxy :salut:
