RayMarine A60 losing bottom

Hi, on my recently acquired Osprey, the Raymarine A60 losses bottom easily and takes its time requiring. My other boat has zero issues with it but the electronics are much newer. Is losing bottom and once the boat stops, taking a while to find it again something that is common with an old transducer? The head unit seems to function correctly other than that...

It could be an improperly installed transducer, as well.
