Since it appears that the Tournament Cats are really rare I thought it would be a good idea to start a registry so that we might share our problems and solutions. Hope to see you here.

Just saw your post. Hope you visit and respond. Just purchased 2001 161 cat from Clearwater. Have wanted one for for years after I drove one in Destin 15 years ago. Hope you still monitor web site. Lots of questions and projects

Another 161 owner here - Only had my Tournament CAT 161 out on the water a few times so far (thanks to being locked down here is Australia).
Really looking forward to spending more time in it but even after first few trips I have a couple of setup issues that need fixing.
Suspect my setup is a little overpowered with a Suzuki DF140 on the back but weight is about that same as a 115HP. Problem I’m getting is drag (leaning over) to the port side when on the plane and some cavitation (or aeration).
Thinking the Trim Tab could be adjusted slightly to counter the effect of the leaning but could also just be torque of the engine. Currently has a 17 prop.
The engine is mounted on it’s highest hole so it can’t go any lower. Also have a Permatrim but boat seems to bog down to the port side even more with this fitted so I’ve taken it off for now.
