Console Switch for Bilge
« on: July 19, 2018, 06:52:14 PM »
My bilge stopped working. I checked the pump and it’s running when I tested it. I think it’s the switch on console .Does, anyone know what switch I need to buy to replace the old one?
Thanks

We definitely need more information.  What model? What year?  Toggle? Rocker? Pictures would help too. Over the years, Aquasport used a lot of different hardware.  One tip, if you touch the two wires together on your console switch, the pump should turn on.  If it doesn’t, the problem is somewhere else.

Sorry, yes you do 1984 170. They are toggle switches. Do the batteries need to be turned on? Tried to upload a pic but file is to large it would not allow me to upload. Thanks for the help.

Yes, if wired correctly, the batteries need to be on for the switches to work.  The basic idea is the bilge pump auto switch should be the only load wired directly to the battery.  Every other load including the bilge pump manual should be wired to battery switch.

I think that most marine toggle switches are the same, so this one should work for you.  Be sure and order a new boot too, since water getting past worn or leaky boot is common cause for switch failure.

Again, no file is too large to be loaded on this Forum if you use your photo gallery.
