Hello all! I am wanting to see if anyone on here knows the dimensions of the original 85 gal. tank for this '85 222 CCP? A friend and I are in the process of restoring this hull and the leaking tank has not been pulled yet. The boat is in Wilmington and I am wanting to source the tank before I head over from Atlanta to do the swap. My buddy is a pro boat fiberglass guy, but he is real busy now that the season has kicked off, so I am wanting to save him as much legwork as possible.

We are also needing a T-Top, leaning post, and forward starboard bow rail if anyone knows of something new, or used in VGC, along with any other miscellaneous stuff.

We are planning to keep this hull as original as possible, but have several improvements and upgrades in mind. I read your posts and look at pics of all the beautiful (past and present) restores on here, so am hoping the same for ours.

Any help you can throw our way on this tank, or anything else will be greatly appreciated!

Thx! Jeff

Phil at Alloy Metal Works has made several of these and has the dimensions.  Made the tank for my 22-2CCP and delivered it in a week - can't beat that!

He will probably also give you the best price on a new tank.

Thx, Gone Fission! Those pics are a big help and I am going to call Phil today to see what a new tank delivered will set me back. Hoping to go back over to Wilmington in 3-4 wks to do the swap.  The only thing I may try to do different is we already have an existing pie plate just inside the console doors for the sender and hose pickups, so maybe the tank can be built with them in that location. The whole project is about future easy access and maintenance. This would prevent us from having to cut in a new plate, but no big deal if needed.

One question I had was, I know "crevice corrosion" is caused by moisture against the aluminum tank for long periods of time and that is why you used the silicon hose on the straps. I'm sure once we get the tank out, things will be clearer, but are the strap attached to the bottom of the coffin? I read where you used epoxy on the bottom of the tank, which I agree is way better than foam down there... Jeff
