Replacement Fuel Coffin Clear Inspection Plate '79 222FFV
« on: May 29, 2019, 11:25:13 AM »
I cant seem to find the original clear inspection plate for my 79 222FFV.

They sell 4" "see throughs" but all are 1/4" too big in diameter.

I dont really want to bust out the router for this. The lip is recessed in the coffin lid.

Anyone know where to purchase a 4.2"OD inspection plate?

THanks.

I guess the correct term is cut out.

I need a clear inspection hatch with a 4.25" cutout and 5 5/8 OD.

Greatly appreciate the help

If I remember correctly, the several that I replaced like yours I had to move up just a little in size.  The clear ones I thought were a little small anyway.  I liked having a little bigger size for access.

Most of the ones used by the factory were made by Rabud in Florida.  I think Dusky online sells them very reasonably.

I've been looking high and low. The Rabud is as close as I'm going to get.

At least I dont have to mill out the recess for the OD. That was probably the main concern. I did not want to chip the gel and glass.

Thanks guys.
