Paul, thanks for answering my question, I have a similar issue with my 20 Osprey, the stringer was cracked from the gas tank coming loose and wearing on it. I love the leaning post, Did someone local make that? please keep the progress reports coming!

 :welcome01: aboard Fabrizio.
On the outside of the transom you should be able to find a "Stamp" in the gelcoat that looks something like this - this is called the Hull ID number or HIN. Mine is on the starboard side.

This is from my Explorer - the last 2 digits on the top line is the year it was made = '92, and the 2nd line is the model = 230.  See if you have something like that on your boat.

I'm Fabrizio from Rome, owner of 19.6 Aquasport with a 1990 Evinrude 120.
I have been a happy owner since 1994 but I don't know what year it was built. I attach some photos.
I also need advice on how to mount a windlass and a bow roller and how to re-power it but I don't know where to ask. Sincerely Fabrizio

22-2 Rebuilds / Re: Foam stringers or coosa ?

Personally I would stick with Trapezoidal Stringers. The boat was designed that way and believe that if the stringers were narrow, the hull bottom would need to be thicker to prevent cracking considering the pressures across the span between stringers. Im no engineer but have a few ongoing similar projects and put this to thought on my 222 Flatback at times. Hope that helps.

I pulled measurements and laid it out before I cut the old stringers out so I could replicate just not really sure how to make the form. I would rather go back with the trapezoid stringers as that’s what the boat was engineered with and I know they’re pretty strong. Any info on how you made the forms ?
Glad you did that. Did you get measurements to the top and bottom of the stringers? That would tell you how tall they were and how tall to make the forms.
Here is where I started https://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=10101.msg89831#msg89831

I started by using 1708 for each and then joined them together, If I had to do it over I think I would make a 16ft long mold so I didn't have to join them.

Hi all, I'm a long-time lurker who acquired an 89 Osprey 200 last year from the nephew of the original owner( I have a pile of original paperwork with the boat). I intended to fully restore her and someday will but the sole and transom seem solid along with the fuel tank being replaced so I'm currently rewiring and have to repair the inner side of the port stringer. I was planning on buying a new boat but couldn't pull the trigger and after seeing the incredible work here on this site I know now that this is the direction I'm heading in. Thanks in advance, Larro
