Offshore fishing in 1974 19.6 cc
« on: October 09, 2018, 01:33:09 PM »
Hello All,

I am new to the forum and will be picking up my first AquaSport on Saturday. The boat is a 1974 19.6 center console. I was wondering if anybody can give me any input or experience about fishing offshore with these boats. I would only go about 3-5 miles out and would pick my days wisely. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi RickK,

I am located in New Jersey. Most of the fishing will be done in the bay with the exception of a few trips out of the Barnagaet Inlet.

Pole I am located in NJ and have fished both the 19.6 and 22.2 offshore. I will say the boats aren't ocean beast's, but, they are capable if you pick your days. One thing I didn't like was the open transom on days when it got a little sh#tty. Which is why I closed the transom on my build, good luck with your boat.

Thanks for the response que pasa. I'm hoping to get the boat in the water for the fall striper run.

We fished a 19 in the ocean quite a bit. It is absolutely seaworthy it just the ride that could make it uncomfortable.
