96- 225hp Ocean Pro vacuum switch pinhole
« on: February 07, 2018, 06:27:38 PM »
I was priming the fuel line and noticed fuel squirting out from the vacuum switch pinhole. Does anyone know why the vacuum switch (225hp Ocean Pro) has what appears to be a factory pinhole and what the purpose is? I read a couple of places online that the switch may be bad but did not discuss the purpose of the pinhole on the switch. I was just curious and figured I would ask.

It may be there intentionally too alert you that the switch is bad. Most automotive water pumps have a weep hole when the shaft bushing has worn to a mechanical limit and starts to leak. Replace it.

Thanks fitz. Makes sense to me now. Time to order a replacement.
