Iv been lookin at new bay boats but after a trip to the gulf coast i seen a 70s model aquasport and was impressed with the lines i have rebuilt two boats already lookin at a 71 19-1 that needs total rebuild how do these boats ride offshore what am i looking at with draft i know i want full transom with jck plate and go back with no wood and keep it light thoughts opinions and all info just need to know all i can before i pull the trigger boat is in south florida

The 191 is a different hull then all the other models.  Where a normal boat goes from strake or chine to the keel, the 191 has an inverse strake right at before the keel giving it almost a "pad".  We have plenty of pics on the site of 191s.  Do a search. Once you see one from the rear you'll never forget what they look like.

I built my first boat when i was 16 1965 Mitchel 16 foot was a john boat now its a center console been fishin it for 11 years now redid an another boat for my grand pa im really lookin forward to this rebuild its def gonna be my inshore nearshore dream boat

I'm not sure we've seen a rebuilt 191.  There have been a few here over the years that needed a redo, but none finished, that I remember.  This is a rare model, only made for a couple years.
Not a flatback, more a modified V.  Not sure what they were trying to accomplish with this modification.
The wood needs to come out though, so this will be a total gut.  It will give you a chance to raise the freeboard a couple inches to allow good drainage and build the boat with amenities that you want.

still workin on mine...so heres a before pic, just as it came from the factory (except the homemade bow pulpit & a few rod holders).
No access to get under the deck at all, you can just barely see the control cables running under the cap on the right.
