New Aquasport owner 215 EX
« on: October 22, 2010, 10:53:07 AM »
Hello Everyone,
Just purshased a aquasport 215 explorer and have been checking out the forum. Lots of good info on here. I have a couple of questions: The boat is equipped with a 200 johnson Ocean pro.
-What should the idea top speed be for this boat?
-Does anyone know where I could get the side plastic curtains for the Bimini top?

Thanks,
Jason

Hello Jason, and welcome aboard  :salut: .  As far as the side curtains go, your best bet is to locate a good canvas shop in your area, and just have them made.  There is a place in Ft. Pierce FL called the marine connection, and several other surplus places, but you pretty much have to know what you are looking for by sight, as hardly anything is cataloged.  As far as your speed goes, make sure you are hitting around 5500 RPMs on your tach, that is real close to where you should be at WOT.  You want to be in that range, otherwise your engine is not operating as efficiently as it could.  I would guess that your top speed should be around the mid to upper 40's but that is just a SWAG on my part.  There are other members on here that have your set up and can probably respond more accurately.  Have a good weekend.

I just picked her up last Sunday and took a few pictures of her at the Motel and on the way home. We will be on the water Sunday and I will take some more. Here she is:

She is a beaut!  The 200 will move her nicely, a 150 was standard on her.  Looks like she just rolled off the end of the line! :salut:
