Yeah time will tell. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning. I gave it a good couple of whacks and it didn't budge. The suction cup is pretty heavy duty, I think my windshield will fail before the suction cup mount will to be honest!

The app im using is the MaxSea app, pretty decent, but haven't really messed around too much with it. It's working on demo (free) mode right now, which thankfully gives me pretty good detail of the local miami waterways. They have other maps and things to make it yours (save data, points, routes, etc) and it's 49.99. The GPS unit is built into the wifi/4g iPads so nothing to worry about there!

I'll have a better update tomorrow morning when I really test it out. I'll try to take a video of the Nav while I'm running as well just to show you guys how it works.

Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the suction cup with the iPad. It held extremely well with very little, if any vibration. I crossed two wakes on my way to the Miami river and it didn't even flinch. Could've taken a lot more. Here is a short video of the iPad on a slow 27mph cruise.

The boat is now at the marina getting bottom painted. Should be back on Saturday morning.

That does look quite stable  :thumleft: .  I personnaly don't have much confidence in suction cups.  They always seem to pop loose at the most inopportune time, at least for me anyway.  The ipad app looks good!

Yeah like I said this suction cup is pretty heavy duty, the RAM mounts are used in police cars if I'm not mistaken.

The app is actually quite good. Very accurate speed readings, route plotting, and the functionality is very easy to get used to since I use an iPad quite often. Time will tell how well it really performs, but so far so good. The only downfall is the visibility in sunlight. Need to figure something out for that.

Got the boat back from the marina with a nice new coat of bottom paint. Came out really nice, but didn't get any photos as the boat was in the water by the time I came to take it home. They also replaced the scuppers with my nice new ping pong ball style scuppers. They seem to work much better and I didn't have any water coming in the back which is nice.

I finally hooked up the goPro as well and took some footage from the marina back to my slip. Check out the highlights here:

Awesome!

We ran under that same little bridge  to the beach  two weeks back :thumright:

Went there to visit my daughter...she's midtown, bayside by the big park on Biscayne Bay.

You live in a neat place :salut:

Yeah its a great little ride. Having a boat in Miami is the way to go, nothing else like it.

Got a call last night from my slip neighbor that someone had gone on to our boats and snagged our batteries. It's always something, seems like it happens more in Miami. Anyways, now I'm short one battery which I was in the process of rewiring. Oh well, looks like I'll splurge for the #27 this time maybe.

After that I decided to give the boat a good deep scrub and remove the bow rail. Going to be meeting with a boat builder next week about closing in the transom and possibly redoing the floor. Hopefully he brings good news and low prices :)

Dude there is nothing I hate more than a thief!  They probably scrapped them for $10 bucks each.

Yeah it seems Miami is getting worse. Back in June my house was robbed for about $9k worth of electronics and bikes, now it's batteries. They ended up stealing over $1k worth of batteries on my neighbors boat too. Still not sure how they were able to carry two 200+lb batteries off his boat, but they definitely knew what they were getting themselves into.

I'm out of town for a week now so we'll see how things go when I get back
