I want to repower my 21 explorer which has  150 Johnson 2 stroke.  Will a 200hp four stroke work or will my scuppers be underwater?

Might be a tad heavy for it. I assume you have a 215 Explorer?

Going along with wingtime, my 215 explorer originally came  with a 150 Johnson.  I re-powered with a 175 Etec which is a lot lighter then a 4 stroke and the scuppers went under. I had to add 50 lbs to the nose to bring them back up.

I have seen the 215 Explorer with a 225 Johnson Ocean runner carb motor on it...  But that motor is only just over 400 lbs.

I have as well, some have installed balance weights in the front to get them to sit correctly.

The new 4 stroke 4 cyl motors are weighing in at about 485 lbs in the 175 to 200hp range. Not to bad almost an equal trade out for the older 2 strokes weight wise
