The Hull Truth & Florida Sportsman

It has come to our attention that The Hull Truth and Florida Sportsman have decided to prohibit any mention of ClassicAquasport.com in their forums. Many members of The Hull Truth and Florida Sportsman are owners of classic Aquasports. It is unfortunate that these two fine web sites have taken this stance. I can only hope that they will reconsider, as there is no reason why all of these boating and fishing sites cannot work together for the mutual benefit of our respective members. As I mentioned in our forums, we will continue to provide links to both THT and FS, as we believe our users find those sites useful and informative.

You should have a classicaquasport.com category in your blog for issues like this. It could also be where you post info about new features and discuss future plans for classicaquasport.com.

Whoops... I gues you already incorporated that into this category. Sorry, last time I checked it was just Blog Help.

First blog I've used - lets see how this works. I'm not too worried about THT an FS cutting us out. I think the word is going to get out about CA anyway. Lots of guys who use those two forums, will have a mention of their favorite forum in their signature, not as a link to that forum, but as a mention that that is their fovorite place to hang out - Classicmako.com and classicseacraft.com in particular and there are others. I don't know why THT and FS are so resistant to the mention of CA. It's not going to hurt their membership, and CA is not trying to sell anything. I'm not worried. This site is going to fly anyway.

Great comment Patrick! Welcome to the world of blogging! It's a little different dynamic than a forum, but similar. BTW, the real power of blogs is their ability to "push" information straight to your desktop via that orange "XML" button in the left column of this page. Make sure to read the "Blog & Web Site Info" section, and, definately get a news reader like NewsGator.

Here's a message I got from John Jones with Florida Sportsman:

"I saw the comments in a blog about your site being restricted by FS. That is not true. There is a rule that prohibits competetive web sites or magazines but I'm sure this site is not considered a competetor, at least not until you start selling advertising;) As I am sure you know, moderating is subjective at best and maybe someone got over-zealous but Classic Aquasport is not prohibited. Plenty of members have classicmako.com and such in their signatures. I am a mod over there by the way."
